  • Therapy sessions cost $180 for 50 minutes in the clinic room, or $200 for therapy sessions in other locations.

    The Medicare rebate is currently $82.30 for clinic-based sessions and $106.05 for sessions in other locations.

    Confident Horizons recognises that the cost of mental health services can be prohibitive for many and offers a discount for Health Care Card (HCC) holders - $120 in clinic and $140 for sessions in other locations (less than $40 out-of-pocket!).

    There is no out-of-pocket cost for DVA card holders.

  • We can travel up to 30mins from Ashgrove.

    Note, sessins in other locations are only available during office (daylight!) hours.

  • Absolutely, we are able to see clients who have a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS plan.

    Therapy is generally provided under the ‘Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living’ category.

  • Yes - as an accredited mental health social worker (AMHSW), our therapist can accept GP referrals under a Mental Health Care Plan.

  • No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment… however, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates to help minimise out-of-pocket expenses if you are referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan.

  • An accredited mental health social worker (AMHSW), is an experienced social work clinician with significant experience and training in mental health, including focused psychological strategies.

    AMHSW’s undergo an extensive assessment prior to being registered and are required to maintain a high standard of continuing professional development.

  • Not necessarily… mental health clinicians come from a range of backgrounds including psychology, occupational therapy and social work.

    When choosing a therapist, we strongly recommend looking at training and experience since completing university, rather than just the qualifications that they have attained.

    Moreover, the most important element of effective therapy is relationship, so it is also important to find therapist who is a good fit!
